If
You Want Publicity Success,
You Need a Successful Publicity Mentor
Who's Here for You--Every Step of the Way
By Joan Stewart
The Publicity Hound
Recognize anything on this list?
-
News releases that seldom see newsprint.
-
Story pitches so lifeless that they land
with a THUD—right in the editor’s wastebasket
-
Confusing social media
marketing sites
-
Phone calls and emails to
media people that go unanswered.
-
A PR client who's all excited about his
lousy idea for a publicity campaign.
-
Opinion pieces, pitch letters and bios
more potent than sleeping pills.
-
Lackluster media kits that cost a fortune.
-
Special events that MUST draw a crowd but
lack any creative ideas to get them off the ground.
-
A boss who knows little about PR, but
expects publicity miracles.
Is this the stuff that keeps you
up at 3 a.m.?
If so, you need The Publicity
Hound to help you sleep better at night--and to show you how to be the publicity
success that you deserve to be by generating thousands of dollars in print,
broadcast and Internet publicity.
A few years ago, the really serious Publicity Hounds
started telling me that:
They needed
ongoing help with their publicity campaigns.
They don't want just a few tips
every week from my free ezine, "The Publicity Hound's Tips of the Week." Or a
one-hour teleseminar tape. Or a special report.
They needed
someone who can show them how to think creatively, pitch convincingly and write
articles and publicity materials that get results.
When you're working alone, it's often
difficult to know if you're on the right track.
They needed
someone to challenge them to generate better story ideas, remove the fear of
dealing with the media, and motivate them to put their best foot forward and not
in their mouth when talking to reporters
But my
speaking, consulting, writing and product development was taking more of my time.
And I had developed a huge following of people who wanted to tap into
my expertise. Yet I’d gotten to the point where I wanted to spend time working
only with people who understand the value of great ideas, but realize that great
ideas aren't worth beans unless you do the hard work necessary to follow
through. So I decided to start a Mentor Program.
Here are the kinds of people I
mentor:
-
PR people who work as sole proprietors, or at
small or large agencies.
-
Anyone who works in marketing or PR for
their company, non-profit or government agency.
-
Anyone who can't afford to hire a publicist
or PR person and must do their own self-promotion.
-
People who must wear multiple hats and take
responsibility for the PR function.
-
Authors who no longer work with their publisher’s publicist
and are on their own.
-
Self-published authors who never had their own publicist and want to learn more
than a publicist could have ever taught them.
-
Anyone who needs help with the
confusing world of social media marketing
-
Professional speakers who want publicity for their programs
or products and to enhance their reputation.
-
Consultants who need to use the media to establish their expertise.
-
PR managers who must train their PR staffs.
-
Publicists who are convinced they haven’t learned it all
and want to get even better at their craft.
-
Anyone who is passionate about promoting their product, service, cause or issue
Here’s what you’ll get…
An initial 1-hour phone consultation to evaluate
where you are and lay out a plan
to get you where you need to
go.
Unlimited access to me via email. You send me your questions and I send you
the
answers, usually within 12 hours, and many times
within an hour or two. If you need
help PRONTO, you can call me.
Two publicity teleconferences per month, only for people in the Mentor
Program.
These are not
open to the public. I schedule them all during the day. If you can’t attend,
that’s OK. I post them at my
website within 24 hours and you have 2 weeks to listen to
what you missed--at a time most convenient for you.
Each teleseminar includes a lecture, often on topics that people in the program
have
suggested, followed by an update. You bring us up to
date on projects you’re planning,
story ideas you’re
pitching, or anything you need help with. This is your chance to ask
questions, even if it they
don’t pertain to the teleseminar topic. You can learn from each
other, bounce ideas
off each other and, if you wish, make plans to brainstorm with each
other after the teleseminar ends.
Attendance at all of my regular teleseminars (open to the public) for free.
A 40 percent discount on all my products, seminars and services.
Your own personal writing coach, with all coaching done by email. This one
benefit
alone is worth more than the price of the
program...but only if you use it.

Just
this week, I made over $5,000
"I
had been studying Internet Marketing for a few years and
felt frustrated because I wasn't making any money. Once I
started working with Joan things became very clear and her
support was great. She helped me to put the puzzle pieces
together much more easily and I started to make money. Just
this week I made over $5000!"

The best
money I've spent on my business
"This
is by far the best money you will ever spend to build your
business. Using the tools Joan gave me, I got myself on NBC,
FOX TV and the 'Today' Show. Pitches she helped me create
landed me on the cover of the prestigious LA Business
Journal, on BusinessWeek.com and in five more magazines that
come out this month alone! Being a nationally recognized
expert has helped me to double my fees.
"P.S. I have gotten more press using Joan’s Mentoring Program
than colleagues who have spent $25,000 on PR firms.
Run--don't walk--into Joan's Mentor Program." |

You helped me get on the cover of Fortune Small Business
"I sent the pitch you helped me
rewrite for my client, Character, the firm responsible for
creating and revitalizing such characters as Popeye, The Maytag
Repairman, and Tony the Tiger. It resulted in an article on the
cover of Fortune Small Business. You're amazing!"

You're stuck
with me for a long time
"This is the best money I have
ever spent on my speaking career (and unfortunately I have spent a
small fortune on coaches and consultants). I am not waiting for
someone to do my PR and marketing for me. You are teaching me to
do it myself. You have brought me results and tremendous value.
What more could I hope? You're stuck with me for a long time."

The program surpassed my expectations
"Joan
Stewart's Mentor Program has surpassed my expectations! Joan has an uncanny ability to get to the heart of a problem and
suggest an effective, doable and often simple remedy.
The twice-a-month teleseminars are always up-to-the-minute, motivating, and
personalized to the listeners. Thank you Joan!"

Why should you learn from me?
-
Unlike many other so-called
publicity "experts," I have a solid
track
record of experience. I worked in the newspaper business
for 22 years as a newspaper editor and reporter, and have appeared hundreds of
times on TV and radio shows.
-
I have accepted and rejected thousands of story ideas. I know the kinds of ideas
that editors toss in the wastebasket and the ones that
get them so excited that they reach for the phone to call you.
-
I have an international following of
more than 16,000 people who subscribe to my
popular electronic newsletter “The Publicity Hound’s Tips
of the Week.”
-
Those same people buy the more than 100
CDs, special reports and ebooks I have published. They also take
advantage of my consulting services.
-
Trade associations hire me to speak at their conventions. And corporations hire
me to train their in-house PR and marketing
staffs.
-
I was one of only a few media
relations experts invited by the National Speakers Association to present at its
prestigious Media Savvy Lab in Tempe, Arizona in May 2003.
-
Entrepreneur magazine
recruited me as its public relations expert and asked me to write a monthly
column for Entrepreneur.com.
-
My website has turned into a high-traffic destination for people looking for
advice on how to generate free publicity.
-
My articles appear regularly in magazines and newspapers such as Public
Relations Tactics, published by the Public Relations
Society of America; the SPAN CONNECTION, a newsletter published the Small Publishers
Association of North America for authors who want to market their books; and at Media Insider,
the website maintained by PR Newswire and visited frequently by PR people.
-
My expert commentary and advice is included in more than
40 books about
marketing and publicity and in hundreds of print and
electronic newsletters.
-
TDS Telecom, a Fortune 500 telecommunications company,
tapped me as their small-business marketing expert.
-
I have worked as a writing coach at three daily newspapers. Reporters who have
been coached by me have won dozens of writing awards
for their news articles, investigative series and feature stories.
-
I invest very heavily in my
own professional development. I am a member of the Internet Association of
Internet Marketers as well as member of STOMPERNET, a paid membership
group for Internet marketers, and I participate regularly in their forums, calls
and coaching.
Who are ideal candidates for
this program?
This is not a get-rich-quick or a
get-famous-quick program. If you’re looking for the one "secret” that will help
you break through all the media barriers—you won’t find it here. Instead, you’ll
learn hundreds of tricks and techniques designed to help solve your
particular problem. And I'll tell you which ones I think you should start using
immediately.
If you want someone to rewrite your news
releases, look elsewhere. I don't rewrite news releases. I teach you how to
rewrite them yourself.
If you want someone to write your articles
for you, hire a freelancer. I teach people in my program how to write their own (just in
case their freelancer gets hit by a truck).
If you want someone to create your media
kit, find a good publicist. I will show you how to create your own media kit and
put it online--something many publicists don't know how to do--so you can save
yourself thousands of dollars in printing and shipping.
If you want someone to do all your creative
thinking, look elsewhere. I will teach you how to think creatively and
eventually feel comfortable generating story ideas and pitches on your own (just
in case I get hit by a truck).

You
helped me break through professional barriers
"Rise
Public Relations was faced with transforming at the speed of
light and the first thing we needed to identify was what we
needed to know to grow. By seeking out Joan, 'The
Information Guru Deluxe,' we were able to crystallize the
needs of our company and clients, find the right knowledge
to institute change, and continue to service the business as
we added an array of services. How do you put a value on
breaking through professional barriers to achieve greater
success, when the peace of mind alone is priceless? You
can't. What you can do is thank your lucky stars she's out
there."

Income from my website is growing every month
"I did it! Not in my wildest dreams
did I think I would ever qualify as a professional member of the
National Speakers Association. But thanks to you, I did it! Even
more exciting is how my website is generating income, and it's
growing every month! I attribute these accomplishments to your

Thanks for a
fabulous opportunity
"A reporter for The
Nonprofit Communications Report, a monthly print newspaper read by
my target audience, saw something I posted--at your suggestion--in
an online discussion forum for people who work for nonprofits. She
emailed to ask if she can use my comments for an article on this
subject. It's a fabulous opportunity I would not have received
without your suggestion to tune into discussion boards."

You're a good fit for for
this program if you...
Need access over time to a credible source who really cares about your success.
Aren't afraid of hard work.
Look forward to being challenged and pushed beyond what you thought you
were
capable of doing.
Want someone on your team who can help you when you reach the Y in the road and
aren't sure which fork to take. I might say, "Don't take either one. Instead, do
this..."
Understand the value of networking among other people in the program.
Love the synergy effect. You'll be on the phone with me and other Publicity
Hounds
twice a month.
Have held off buying my products until I make a special offer.
Want to turn drudgery work into a fun learning experience.
Pre-requisite:
Before entering the program, you must buy
and read "How to be a Kick-Butt Publicity Hound," the 306-page ebook I
co-wrote with Tom Antion. It will save us hours of time and free us to
concentrate on intermediate and advanced publicity techniques.
How many people will I accept?
I want to take on only as many as
I can comfortably handle--and only those who I
am convinced will do the hard work necessary to achieve success. If, during the initial phone consultation, I don't think you're a good match with the
program, I will refund the entire amount of your tuition.
How much will this cost?
Tuition is $2,500 for six months. You'd eat
that up after buying less than 9 hours of my consulting time. Or paying a
pay-per-placement PR firm for getting you only one story in a local business
journal. Think of how much
time you can spend with me in six months and what you can accomplish with unlimited email support and
all those teleseminars.
Or sign up for one year (12
months) at $4,000. This is a small sum compared to the thousands of dollars in
free publicity I'll show you how to generate. And less than one month's retainer
if you were hiring a PR firm.
Click here to enroll for six months
at $2,500.
12 months at $4,000 (This is the equivalent of getting
two months free)
If you can’t afford
that amount of money, you’re probably not ready for the Mentor Program at the
moment. Please bookmark this URL and come back to it when you are truly
ready to reach higher levels of success. And remember, you can always take
advantage of my telephone consulting at $300 an hour. Use as much or as little
as you need.
If the timing isn't right and you don't think you
will have the energy necessary to devote to this program, please don't sign up
because it's non-refundable.
If you're not sure whether you're an ideal candidate or if this program is right for
you, call me at 262-284-7451 and let's talk.
Mark Twain said: "Keep away
from people who try to belittle your ambitions.
Small people always do that, but the really great make you
feel that you too can become great."
Tell me what you expect from this program. If I think you're a good fit, I'll help
you be great.
So if you're ready to commit,
welcome aboard. Let's get started right now creating the type of
publicity you deserve.
P.S. I'll be here for you,
every step of the way!

More media
hits, including hard-to-place stories
"Over the past several months, Joan has
critiqued my press releases and pitches,
forcing me to get to the point without extraneous details and
prompting me to critically think through my ideas. The feedback
has been invaluable. I've enjoyed numerous publicity
successes, placing several difficult stories that probably would
not have happened without her help. Needless to say, she's made me
look great to my
clients!
The whole process has also helped my
confidence
and how I approach new projects.

You've
helped me become a better writer
"Your Mentor Program
has been a learning experience like no other I have found. The
one-on-one contact, teleseminars, writing tips and techniques and
PR tools have helped me refine my writing skills as a marketing
communications professional. More importantly, though, you have
helped me communicate more effectively with the media, customers
and the public. Thank you, Publicity Hound!"
